I’m Wendie-Joy Planting, a Dutch-born, self-taught artist. As an HPS (highly sensitive person), the beauty of nature and its vibrant colors move me deeply. In my works I bring alive that emotion, inviting the viewers to connect to these vibes, enriching their lives, creating moments of beauty.

I have painted since I was a kid, and I’ve been through quite a few pictorial phases and styles along the road, all closely linked to my own experiences in life, my state of mind, because my work reflects most of all my emotions.

I love to paint landscapes, flowers and seascapes and occasionally I create sceneries with human subjects in odd situations, and I tend to give them an abstract “touch”, or I sometimes even give them a surrealistic “twist” to introduce the unexpected. My fascination for vivid colors and textures is present in most of my work and I like to use “unorthodox” techniques.
